Emergency Roofers in London
When water is coming through your ceiling, every hour matters. Our emergency roofers cover every London borough, responding fast to leaks, storm damage, slipped slates, failed flashings and flat roofs that have given up in heavy rain. We make the roof safe first and price the permanent repair second.
We work across all London boroughs and aim to attend the same day where weather and access allow. Call us and describe what you can see — where the water is coming in is often not where the roof is failing, and those two facts help us arrive with the right materials.
What counts as a roofing emergency?
- Water entering a property through the ceiling, light fittings or walls.
- Storm damage — missing tiles, dislodged ridge tiles, torn felt or damaged flashing.
- Slates or tiles that have moved and are at risk of falling.
- Leaking flat roofs, blocked outlets and overflowing hoppers during heavy rain.
- Failed lead or mortar flashings around chimneys and parapets.
- Roof damage following a burst of high wind or a fallen branch.
Our emergency roofers handle all of these across London. If a tile has already fallen or is hanging over a footpath, treat it as urgent and keep people clear of the area below until we arrive.
What happens when you call us
1. We talk it through
We ask what you can see and where the water is appearing. That tells us whether we are dealing with a slipped tile, a failed flashing or a hidden flat-roof leak.
2. We make it safe
The first job is always to stop water getting in. That usually means temporary sheeting, securing loose materials or clearing a blocked outlet. You get a clear photograph of what we found before anything is covered up.
3. We price the permanent repair
Once the roof is safe, we give you a written price for the proper repair — no pressure to decide on the spot, and no inflated “emergency” rate hidden in the figures.
A storm damage call-out in Wandsworth
After a night of 60mph gusts, a homeowner in Wandsworth rang us before 8am. Ridge tiles had lifted on a 1930s semi-detached house and one had fallen into the front garden. Rain was being driven under the lifted tiles and a damp patch was spreading across the front bedroom ceiling.
We arrived within a few hours, cleared the loose tiles, secured the ridge with a temporary covering and took photographs from the roof so the homeowner could see the extent of the damage for their insurance claim. There was no structural issue — the battens and felt underneath were intact.
Two days later, once the weather settled, we returned and re-bedded and re-pointed the ridge in mortar with mechanical fixings, replaced the two broken tiles and renewed the mortar to the adjoining hip. The homeowner’s insurer settled the claim using our photographs and written report, and the repair has been watertight ever since.
Insurance claims and storm damage
Most storm damage to a roof is covered by buildings insurance, and the claims process goes more smoothly with good evidence. We provide dated photographs, a written description of the damage and an itemised repair quotation you can send straight to your insurer. We cannot give insurance advice, but we will give you the paperwork you need.
For guidance on preparing for severe weather, the Met Office weather warnings service is worth checking when a storm is forecast.
How to limit the damage while you wait
- Move furniture and valuables away from the leak and put a bucket underneath.
- Do not climb onto the roof yourself, especially in wind or rain.
- If water is near electrics or light fittings, switch off the circuit at the consumer unit and keep clear.
- Photograph everything before you move it — it helps your insurance claim.
- Keep people clear of any area where tiles may have fallen.
